Book Release: The Heart of a Tiger by 8-Year-Old Collin Michael Schmidt

I am PrOuD to present my young grandson, Collin Michael Schmidt, and his Book, The Heart of a Tiger!

The Heart of a Tiger is a nonfiction child’s book about a young boy (a young tiger) with a big dream to play football for the Cincinnati Bengals. Unfortunately, his dream was cut short…very short. Read along and see how he altered his dream to form a new purpose. All royalties pay for distribution of the book and for the care and security of Collin.

COLLIN MICHAEL SCHMIDT is the author of the book, The Heart of a Tiger. He is an eight-year-old little boy with big dreams. He lives in a small town in Ohio and is in second grade. He lives with two loving parents, his little sister, Hailey, and their two dogs; Marley and Chloe. His favorite thing to do is watch football; especially the Cincinnati Bengals. He loved playing football, but unfortunately, he’s not able to anymore. He does enjoy other sports, like basketball and baseball. He loves to read books, as well as, photography. He likes riding bikes, going swimming, riding four-wheelers, taking pictures, and listening to music. Presently, he is learning how to play his guitar and thinks that’s awesome. He really just loves to be outdoors, having fun and enjoying life.

As for my role in all of this; I am the proud Nana who got to illustrate, edit, and publish this book for Collin. His story has given inspiration to others; including me. I’ve learned a lot from this little boy. My biggest learning has been the fact that life is genuinely, constantly fragile. It is true that we can’t take our time together for granted. I know Collin will be fine through the years…including times when he has to endure a surgery or procedure. He’s a survivor! And if you look into his round, hazel-green eyes, you can see that he is special. Yes, I’m the grandma, but I have seen him in action, and I truly do believe he has (and is) a gift from God.
