When it rains, it pours!
Our first time out we had 12 bags to offer the homeless…
and this time we filled 26 individual bags!
We filled the bags with toiletries, snacks, cereals, antibiotic ointment, band aids, socks, slippers, and love.
Serve City was the recipient of our gifts…and what a treat for us to fill these wonderful bags. In fact, we were still using some of the product from the first fill!
When we got there, quite a few residents were in the parking lot playing corn hole. They were nice and respectful toward us, and extremely grateful just to receive a pop tart! We let them know that the food came from Mount Healthy schools and that there was much more inside the building.
We were able to get a donation receipt for the person who donated money to our cause, and the pictures show some of what we were able to purchase with that gift.
We are extremely grateful to everyone who has donated their efforts, bags, clothes, toiletries, and food.
We could not do it without you!
In the next week, we will be meeting with the director of Serve City to see what we can do aside from filling the bags. For instance, we like the poster they had (one of the pictures below); where they are given tips on how to help anxiety.
We would like to find a way to spend some special time with them; sharing stories, teaching and learning, and hopefully having some fun. We just want them to know there are people out there who care and want to help them better themselves and their lives.
God bless all of you who have joined in our quest to help the homeless. May you be blessed beyond your expectations.
Take a look at some of the pictures of those who helped this go around!
Our journey began here.
