Fear can be overwhelming at times. Fear is a huge driver in many people’s lives; making us do things we would not normally do, act in ways that are unacceptable, or perhaps creating a sadness that we’d rather live without. That is, if we were honest with ourselves.
It is in the moments when we become aware of ourselves that our lives can make a complete turn around. Being aware of your behavior and actions allows you the ability to choose… to change what is not working in your daily life.
Once you become self aware, that ability lives within you. Then, it is up to you, completely, to decide how you choose to be in the future. What is it that you want? What are you willing to save or lose?
The other big factor in managing fear is to allow God into your life. I don’t know about you, but knowing that God is driving my life makes me feel better already. I don’t have to fear because He is at work on me. I believe in karma and know our choices, our thoughts, and our actions either harm us or help us on our journey. I don’t have to worry if someone wants me in their life, I don’t have to fret if the picture I had in mind doesn’t match what is happening to me. I just need look for the lessons and blessings.
Yes, we may have a hiccup and revert back to our old ways once or twice, but with genuine and thoughtful concern to make things right, we can (hopefully) get to the way we’d like life to be. However, we do need to be careful how harsh our hiccups are… And that we’re not too late to salvage our relationships. In other words, don’t be an asshole.
It’s ALL up to you.
“There’s a big world out there. It’s messy, and it’s chaotic, and it’s never, ever the thing you expect.
It is OK to be scared, but you cannot allow your fears to turn you into an asshole… Not when it comes to the people who really love you…the people who need you.” ~ In the Land of Women (movie)
