Mother on Mother’s Day

If you are fortunate enough to have your mother on Mother’s Day, be thankful…right in this moment. Not all of us have the opportunity to pick up the phone, go to dinner, or share in the affection of family. For that reason alone, a hug is in order; if not to hug your own mother, then to hug someone else’s mom.

So why is your mother so important to you? Is it because you would not be here if it wasn’t for her? Is it because she raised you to be the person you are today? Perhaps it’s because you still count on her for every day support. Or, perhaps, it’s because her health is failing, and you realize that time is precious.

“Because you gave me life, and more importantly, lessons in how to live, you are the wellspring from which flows all good I may achieve in my time on earth. For all that you are, and all that I am, thank you, Mom.” ~ David L. Weatherford

As this special day for mothers comes upon us, I’d like to share an article I wrote a while ago. As you read, take note of what you could say to your own mother. You have the power to make her feel really special…on her special day.
