Loving with Purpose, “So What’s It About?
This was the question asked over and over at my most recent events; an expo and a fundraiser.
If you’ve ever wondered what my book, Loving with Purpose, is about, let me tell you…
Because of the title I chose (Loving with Purpose), many people believe it might be a religious book. It is not. It is a relationship book.
A book about the relationship you have with yourself and with others.
With that said, I do share small pieces of God in my book, (e.g. Chapter 12: Touchy Topics), but mainly you will read about you and your relationships; a self-help book aimed at helping people find peace and happiness within themselves and with each other.
This does not mean I won’t share religious viewpoints on my website…in my own way. Mostly, from the words of spiritual and religious leaders who I’ve come to respect and trust. I believe, without a doubt, that my life, that the relationship I have with myself, is totally defined by the ways of God.
For this reason, I share what I find helpful, to me and for others, on my website, Loving with Purpose, and other media outlets. God is a part of Loving with Purpose. It has to be…since my belief system is based on His words. Sure, I don’t do anything to perfection; no one does, but I learn more every day and want to share what I find useful.
Although I knew some people didn’t really understand what the book was about, through my most recent expo and fundraiser events, I learned that for certain. I needed to let people know.
I felt it necessary to share the fact that Loving with Purpose, my book, is not based on religion. It is, however, based on personal awareness, self-worth, and success…and although I talk very little about God in the book, I know He is a big part of our journey.
So, that’s it! I just wanted to give more clarity to you about the purpose of my book, Loving with Purpose. I hope you take the time to pick up a copy and check it out for yourself.

“What the media portrays about women, tells men…
…what to expect from women. Is that fair? Do women hurt themselves by buying into some of what the media says about them? As she walks her journey, she needs to remind herself that she is unique…special, and she needs to carry herself in such a way.” ~ Loving with Purpose

Remind your children….they can ‘always’ talk to you about anything. Remind yourself…
…to have simple, everyday conversations with them. As @JayMcGraw said, “Parents, you need to talk to your children about things that don’t matter, so that the channel is open and ready when it’s time to talk about things that do matter.

The Iron Worker Who Made His Way Home
My husband and I paid our respects to the brother of one of our family members. He was a young man who no one thought would have left this world so soon. I never met this man, but I knew many of my relatives were deeply saddened by their loss; and although I never knew him, I felt the pain and sorrow for their loss.
While we sat in church, listening to the booming voice of the priest and the beautiful voice of the singer, I was brought to tears by the words that were spoken. At some point during the service, the priest asked God to show his face to us. I felt this oddly familiar; however, I did not make it a habit to make this request of God. I thought, “Perhaps I should start asking Him to show His face.” Read more »
